About this role
About the Department
- Supervises and assists in the performance of maintenance and preventive maintenance of electrical fire alarms, CCTV, electronic security, PA, intercom and high voltage distribution systems, emergency generators and equipment.
- Plans electrical work including repairs to high voltage equipment and systems.
- Reads blueprints and wiring diagrams and makes take-offs.
- Requisitions materials and parts needed.
- Ensures completion of installation/repairs.
- Makes emergency repairs to electrical system and equipment.
- Performs on-the-job training of inmates.

Position Duties
State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and experience in the construction or repair of secondary electrical systems. Relevant experience may be substituted for the required diploma on a year-for-year basis.
SCDC Minimum Requirements:
- A high school diploma and experience in the construction or repair of secondary electrical systems.
- Must be able to supervise, direct, instruct, and work with other people.
