Duties
Ensure that needed plans, blueprints, materials, and tools are available, and that needed stock is obtained from supply locations.,Perform work identical to that performed by incumbents led, i.e., is engaged in installing, modifying, repairing, troubleshooting, loading, and testing new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems, fixtures, controls, and equipment.,Knowledge and application of electrical principles, materials and safety standards.,Ability to troubleshoot and repair motors and controls.,Ability to interpret and apply building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings and formulas basic to the trade to figure such things as voltage and resistance.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Electrician Leader ~ without more than normal supervision. Perform common Electrician Leader tasks including distributing of work, replacement of electrical components in an electrical distribution system to include subpanels, lights of various types, receptacles of varying voltage and capacity; replace defective conduit and conductors with like material and properly secure components; lead team members in the execution of small projects to completion and make certain materials are available and proper equipment to safely accomplish the work is obtained - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. The incumbent makes repairs and installations from ladders, scaffolding, and platforms and where the parts of the systems worked on are in hard-to-reach places. This requires the employee to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. The employee frequently lifts, carries, and sets up tools, equipment, and parts that weigh up to 20 pounds. Occasionally lifts and carries items that weigh over 20 pounds. The work is done inside and outside and is usually dirty, dusty, and greasy. The employee is sometimes required to make repairs and installations outside in bad weather and in work areas that are noisy. Occasionally exposed to the possibility of broken bones, electrical shock, and burns. Frequently exposed to the possibility of cuts and bruises. Work requires wearing of steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, hard hat, and other safety gear as the work assignments dictate.
