Duties

You will maintain all air traffic control and associated equipment is maintained to the FAA Certification or Navy Standards.,You will investigate, test, repair, adjust, diagnose, and verify certification of an individual or complex systems.,You will complete preventative maintenance, daily ground checks to validate FAA certification.,You will correct casualties and document in writing Naval Air Traffic Control, Air Navigation Aids, and Landing Systems are operating within Navy, FAA, or manufactures specifications.,You will serve as the subject matter expert and is responsible for training junior military technicians in the maintenance and repair of various electronics and ancillary systems

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Reviewing technical airfield electronic work for compliance with regulations;2) Troubleshooting and repairing airfield electronic equipment, air traffic control systems, radars, instrument approach systems, navigational aids, and communications systems to solve complex technical problems or improve system performance;3) Evaluating equipment design to improve or enhance circuit and system operation;4) Using applicable test equipment, test methods and practices as related to the Air Traffic Control equipment and systems, including safety precautions;5) Performing site certification of ATC and Airfield Landing systems;6) Utilizing knowledge of Air Traffic Control, air navigation aids and landing systems. **NOTE: This information must be supported in your resume to be considered for the position.** Candidates should possess the minimum qualifications: 1. Applicant will have at least 5 years of practical electronics systems training, maintenance and repair. 2. At least 3 years of practical RADAR, NAVAID or Communications systems maintenance and repair. 3. Ability to lift at least 50 lbs., climb towers and ability to obtain a driver's license. 4. Knowledge of Naval maintenance and repair documentation processes. 5. At least 2 years of experience working at an airport or Air Station. 6. Candidates must possess at least one of the following Navy Enlisted Classification (NEC) certifications, or an equivalent certification: V05B (Air Traffic Control Communication Systems Technician), V81A (Automated Surface Observation System Technician), V89B (Tactical Air Navigation System Technician), V01B (Digital Airport Surveillance RADAR and Standard Terminal Automated RADAR System Technician), V98B (Precision Approach RADAR Technician) or V97B (Instrument Landing System Technician).
