About this role

Position Summary:

Creates a rigorous, performance-driven classroom environment and promotes learning, character development, and strong academic growth in an effort to establish rapport and motivate students toward high levels of achievement.

Essential Functions:

·        Delivers rigorous, standards-aligned instruction that drives strong student achievement and growth.

·        Uses lesson planning, differentiation, and targeted intervention to address learning gaps and move students toward mastery.

·        Analyzes student data, identifies strengths and gaps, and adjusts instruction based on progress-monitoring results.

·        Establishes and maintains a structured, joyful, and academically focused classroom culture with high expectations for behavior.

·        Communicates consistently with families and provides clear updates on student progress, needs, and supports.

·        Maintains accurate academic records, administers assessments as required, and fulfills instructional and compliance responsibilities.

·        Engages fully in coaching, professional development, collaboration, and feedback cycles to strengthen instructional effectiveness.

·        Demonstrates ownership of student outcomes and meets performance expectations tied to annual reviews and contract renewal.

NOTES:

1.     Candidates for this role may be required to complete pre-work that analyzes their prior year student data, including results, gaps, successes, actions taken to bridge gaps, and a plan to improve outcomes.

2.     Annual contract renewal is contingent upon the teacher's annual performance review, student outcome progress, professional responsibilities, and overall effectiveness in meeting the expectations of the role.

3.     Teachers hired after July 1, 2026, will have a one (1) year probationary period.

Qualifications:

5.     Bachelor's degree in education or related subject required.

6.     State of Florida teaching licensure and credentials.

7.     Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience preferred, with evidence of student academic growth and strong instructional practice.

8.     Experience working with students from an ethnically diverse, urban population preferred.

Physical Demands:

Ability to plan, lead and participate in activities.
