About Our Internship Program:

Throughout your internship, you will have regular events, weekly lunch and learn sessions, and receive customized training from our business units. This is a unique opportunity to gain valuable insights into supporting the needs of Stanley Black & Decker both in the US and abroad. The interns will gain first-hand exposure to Stanley Black & Decker and have the opportunity to build a cross-functional professional network. Interns are expected to adapt to change and demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, creativity, and confidence. Interns must be team-oriented and collaborative.

The Job:

During your internship, you will have the opportunity to support the Tool & Outdoor team with key activities including:

  • Assists with the development of software for electrically powered equipment.
  • Assists senior engineers by developing tests for software components.
  • Analyzes software problems with test equipment and analysis tools to determine root cause of technical issues.
  • Assists research and other engineering personnel to prepare design modifications as required.
  • Assists with the development of embedded software for electrically powered equipment.
  • Interested in low-level/bare-metal embedded C programming

You will have exposure to several areas of the embedded software team at Stanley Black & Decker. You will work on a wide variety of tasks and projects with a cross-functional team of professionals.

The Person:

The ideal embedded software engineering intern candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Be a rising junior or senior with a target graduation date of 2028 or 2027
  • Actively pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering
  • Firmware testing and electrical designing
  • Maintains strong academic credentials.
  • Successfully manages strong academics alongside extracurricular activities.
