Ameresco has an opportunity for an Energy & Sustainability Intern to join Ameresco’s Central Region Project Development Team on a hybrid schedule, based in Oak Brook, Illinois. This is a paid internship (20- 35 hours per week) scheduled for June - August.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Engineers to provide project support for development, design, construction, and post-construction activities.
- Provide assistance with energy assessments including baseline profiles, end-use, and retrofit analysis.
- Analyze utility bill data and sub-meter data for buildings or for building systems.
- Assist with the assessment of project requirements to evaluate opportunities for energy efficiency.
- Analyze and document building, mechanical, electrical, controls, and plumbing systems.
- Investigate, analyze, and document energy conservation and water cost reduction measures.
- Prepare technical content, proposals, analysis, feasibility reports and provide critical peer review.
- Foster effective and positive business relationships with all parties throughout project phases.
- Perform other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled and pursuing a bachelor’s degree in science or engineering with an interest in Energy and/or Sustainability.
Additional Qualifications:
- Proven ability to gather, validate, and analyze quantitative data and information.
- Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite, including Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills required.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
