About this role

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Utilizes hand tools, measurement and test instruments appropriately for test processes, and use systems/software e.g. Word processing/ Excel spreadsheet applications etc. to record and format data and create charts, log sheets, reports, etc.
  • Builds and maintains test setups.
  • Documents, organizes, and compiles test data for testing performed. Clearly documents and communicates test results to relevant individuals.
  • Maintains testing facilities clean and organized.
  • Maintain and follows lab related work instructions, procedures, and equipment manuals.
  • Assists in the analysis of customer returns, liaise with relevant functions as necessary e.g. quality, manufacturing departments.
  • Participates in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities may be required based on organizational needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or equivalent. Working experience in a technical lab environment in place of Associate degree is acceptable e.g. CNC machine shop, machine assembly, etc.
  • Must have basic understanding with valves, pumps to support the test setup. Understanding of electric motors is desirable.
  • Basic understanding with the ability to learn and use Microsoft Excel and Word to record, produce graphs/charts and report data to a high standard.

  • Assemble piping arrangements and test fixture (material PVC, wood, metal) using hand tools and power tools.
  • Some bending, lifting, and turning.
  • Lifting of objects within ESH guidelines at 40 lbs. max. Most product weight is between 1-10 lbs.
