With technical and leadership expertise, you manage engineers across multiple teams and locations, a large product budget and oversee the deployment of large-scale projects across multiple sites internationally.
As a part of the Google Cloud's Persistent Disk (PD) team, you will rapidly expand and look for engineers to solve complex distributed systems issues. As a vital component of Google Cloud, PD provides mission-critical block storage that powers every Google Compute Engine (GCE), Virtual Machine (VM), as well as higher-level services like Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), CloudSQL, and Cloud Filestore. You will join the group of experienced, supportive engineers to help manage exabytes of data and build storage solutions trusted by tens of thousands of enterprises worldwide.Google Cloud accelerates every organization’s ability to digitally transform its business and industry. We deliver enterprise-grade solutions that leverage Google’s technology, and tools that help developers build more sustainably. Customers in more than 200 countries and territories turn to Google Cloud as their trusted partner to enable growth and solve their most critical business problems.Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
US: $207000 - $301000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + bonus + equity + benefits

Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in a technical leadership role with/without direct reports.
- 5 years of experience in software development.
- 4 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in one or more of the following: storage, compute, networking, high-performance computing or internal tools and infrastructure management.

Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers, actively supporting their career development and daily execution.
- Provide technical leadership to guide the team in designing, developing, and deploying a highly scalable Persistent Disk (PD) I/O stack.
- Partner with and influence cross-functional stakeholders across Persistent Disk and Google Compute Engine (GCE) to drive strategic initiatives.
- Navigate ambiguity to define, scope, and solve complex technical challenges where the architectural path is not initially clear.
