About this Position:
This position is located in the Materials and Testing Section and will aide in testing and evaluating materials used in construct Louisiana's roads and bridges.

Position Duties
Possession of a high school diploma or GED; OR
Six months of experience in sub-professional engineering, heavy mobile equipment operation, or mobile equipment maintenance.

Other Qualifications
Job Duties:
- Performs testing on Asphalt, Concrete, Soils, Aggregates, Steel, Adhesives, Paint, Thermoplastic, and Cementitious Materials in accordance with the Louisiana DOTD Testing Procedures.
- Performs calculations, records, checks, organizes, and enters test data into the required software application. Responsible for maintaining and keeping the sample log up to date, logging samples on a daily basis and performing acceptance and verification testing on all samples
- Performs maintenance on testing equipment (basic calibrations, verifications, adjustments, and repairs) when necessary.
- Tests proficiency samples from the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) Cement and Concrete Reference Laboratory (CCRL) and the Collaborative Testing Programs for Cement and Pozzolan on a semi-annual basis.
- Requests or obtains additional materials, supplies and/or equipment as needed to ensure efficient operation.
