Position Summary

As an engineering technician at Horizon Surgical Systems, your work will contribute to the automation of ophthalmological surgical procedures with a robotic platform. In this role, you will assemble and provide maintenance for hardware components and robotic systems.

Responsibilities

  • Mechanical benchtop work including, but not limited to, sawing/cutting, sanding, drilling, 3D printing, and using power tools
  • Electrical benchtop work including, but not limited to, soldering, crimping, electrical harness assembly, wire routing, and cable management.
  • General assembly, maintenance, and troubleshooting of robotic and computing equipment
  • Mechanical, electrical, and cosmetic inspection of prototypes with callipers, digital multimeters, oscilloscope, pin gauges, and various other mechanical and electrical measurement tools.
  • Maintaining clear communication with the engineering team and management
  • Creating, updating, maintaining, and providing feedback on electronic log books, assembly instructions, inventory logs, travelers, mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, status reports, and other documentation.
  • Maintaining an organized and presentable work area
  • Working collaboratively with the development team
