The scope of this Contract requires specialized expertise in areas such as high-performance computing (HPC), automated processing systems, distributed software design, and secure hosting and networking solutions. The IT infrastructure consists of a mix of Linux, Windows, and UNIX. The environment includes a variety of network devices, server interconnections, mass storage solutions, and essential supporting infrastructure services. The services provided under this Contract support areas including HPC, infrastructure maintenance for HPC systems, networking, office automation, and the development of specialized software.

AT&T has an opening for an Engineering Technician: To support mission critical operations across large scale computer systems and networks. This role involves hands on assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance to ensure reliable operations. This position works closely with Government and contractor teams to deliver system stability, lifecycle support, and mission critical performance. This position requires office presence a minimum of 5 days per week and is only located in the location(s) posted. No relocation is offered. Work to be performed in Ft. Meade, MD.

Description of Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provide system assembly, maintenance, troubleshooting and shipping.
  • Provide system and component assembly, disassembly, unit testing, life cycle support, and transition to operations.
  • Assist with software upgrades as requested by the Government.
  • Assist with software maintenance teams to troubleshoot software defects (at the Government’s discretion).
  • Support software/TAG upgrades.
  • Monitor operational capability of large-scale computer systems and the health of systems using Government-provided tools. Includes power, cooling and applications.
  • Watch status screens to detect hardware or application failures that reduce processing capability.
  • Alert appropriate support personnel when alert detected. Record their timeframes.
  • Provide daily pass-down reports for the next shift and Government personnel.
  • Interface with facilities personnel (Government and contractor) to ensure continuous system operation.
  • Track daily metrics and provide monthly status reports. Report all SW problems to appropriate teams. Provide daily progress/status reports by shift to appropriate Government personnel.
  • Assist the Government with improving requalification test and processes to improve systems stability and longevity.
  • Participate in familiarization training and other forms of training as required to support operational systems.
  • Participating in team meetings to ensure integration planning and maintenance implementation meet Government support requirements.
