The ideal candidate will bring five or more years of enterprise architecture experience specifically within retail banking or financial services, ensuring a deep, immediate understanding of core banking ecosystems, transactional integrity, and compliance frameworks such as FFIEC and PCI-DSS. You will have a proven track record of partnering with Enterprise and Cloud Architects to define and enforce rigorous standards across key technical layers: REST/gRPC API routing, payload envelope structures, unified authentication patterns, service bus message serialization, standardized data access, and microservice database designs. 

With strong, hands-on experience in MuleSoft and Apigee, you will champion robust gateway management while guiding the deployment of containerized and serverless workloads on Google Cloud Platform. Additionally, you will utilize Kubernetes Engine alongside advanced GCP PaaS and AI/ML capabilities, such as Vertex AI, to build highly scalable, secure, and modern banking solutions.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Expeirence in API Gateway and Management: Design, implement, and govern API strategies using platforms like MuleSoft and Apigee. This includes defining standards for API security, traffic management, versioning, and developer portal management.
  • Experience in Microservices Architecture: Lead the architectural design and adoption of microservices. This involves creating reference architectures, defining service-to-service communication patterns, and ensuring the scalability and resilience of the microservices ecosystem.
  • Experience collaborating with the wider Enterprise Architecture (EA) team and Cloud Architects to architect and guide the implementation of solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Drive the deployment, management, and scaling of containerized applications.
  • Experience in Solution Design and Implementation: Translate business and domain strategies into actionable API and microservices architectures. Propose detailed solutions, articulating the effort, benefits, and risks associated with their implementation on cloud-native platforms.
  • Experience in Governance and Best Practices: Develop and enforce Enterprise Architecture principles for APIs and integrations. Create reference materials, patterns, and KPIs to ensure consistent, compliant, and high-quality solutions are delivered across technical teams.

Job Title: Enterprise Architect

An Enterprise Architect at Arvest will incorporate a strong consultant-oriented approach. They will set the direction and provide guidance across multiple business divisions, organizations & technology domains and helps establish a target vision aligned to the business and IT strategy. They play a leadership role in planning for the near term business future. An Enterprise Architect’s skills and knowledge may span multiple architecture domains to ensure balanced solutions are implemented across People, Process, Technology and Data. The Enterprise Architect is expected to influence the organization and work independently with senior Business and Technology leaders while acting as a mentor and role model.

What You’ll Do at Arvest: (Other duties may be assigned.)

• Collaboratively develop and approve Enterprise Architecture Principles and promote the Enterprise Architecture process, outcomes and results to key stakeholders.

• Act as a technical mentor, advisor, and supporter across multiple project teams to help maintain strategies and interdependencies.

• Translate enterprise domain strategy into actionable architectures and initiatives on the strategic investment portfolio.

• Design, develop, and execute project and program level plans with ongoing refinement activities based on enterprise strategies and accommodating project/delivery team needs.

• Identify organizational requirements for the resources, structures, and cultural changes necessary to support the use of reference architectures.

• Provide KPIs and methodology used to develop baseline, transition, and target architectures throughout the application lifecycle.

• Address high priority technical challenges and escalations with delivery teams.

• Propose detailed solutions, articulating estimated level of effort, benefits, and risks to a solution’s feasibility and functionality.

• Create and maintain reference materials for use by the technical delivery team to ensure consistent and compliant solutions for enterprise level architecture patterns

• Use industry trends and forward thinking concepts to drive ideas into POCs for evaluation, partnering with strategic vendors to influence their roadmaps to meet business and technology strategies.

• Track relevant industry best practices and emerging trends to create an impact radar and bring awareness of potential capabilities/techniques to stakeholders

• Build Arvest’s brand in the technology community through community network development and thought leadership.

• Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations, and the bank's BSA/AML Program, as applicable to your job duties. This includes but is not limited to; complete compliance training and adhere to internal procedures and controls; report any known violations of compliance policy, laws, or regulations and report any suspicious customer and/or account activity.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance for 1-2 direct reports with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.


Responsibilities:

Toolbox for Success:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.

• 12 years of relevant experience in Information Technology, including architecture design and deployment, systems lifecycle management and infrastructure planning and operations.

• Supervisory experience preferred.

• Strong ability to share ideas and communicate with peers, cross functional stakeholders, and executives.

• Experience in analyzing business and technology requirements to help design and build scalable enterprise application architectures.

• Enterprise Architecture Certification (ITSM preferred)

• Knowledge of a broad range of areas including but not limited to:

     o TOGAF/EA Methodologies /Frameworks

     o Security Program Management & Support

     o ITSM/ITIL Process Design

     o Cloud strategy, roadmap, & TCO/ROI Analysis

     o Agile Framework (SAFe)

     o Product engineering methodologies/solution ownership

     o Concept modeling

     o Experience in governance, risk, & compliance

• Relevant military experience is considered for veterans and transitioning service members
