RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assemble mechanical and electrical components of gateways, subassemblies, and final vehicle integrations.
- Build small electrical sub-assemblies and wire harnesses.
- Integrate PCB assemblies into product chassis.
- Support conformal coating, masking, epoxy application, and coating processes.
- Operate complex automated equipment, troubleshooting and maintaining as needed.
- Conduct functional testing of hardware, including setup, instrumentation, test execution, and teardown.
- Set up tests to support thermal, shock, thermal vacuum, and vibration regimes.
- Prioritize schedules and work independently to meet company deliverables.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school degree or equivalency certificate.
- 1+ years of hands-on mechanical work experience or vocational training/cert.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- 2+ years of experience in electro-mechanical assembly, integration, or mechanical assembly.
- Proficient in using a PC, Microsoft Windows, and the Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to read, interpret, and work from layout drawings, mechanical drawings, assembly procedures, schematics, engineering drawings, and parts lists.
- Experience working in an electro-mechanical manufacturing, precision manufacturing, or high-volume manufacturing company.
- Electro-mechanical assembly and prototype development experience.
- Experience setting up and conducting tests and experiments.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Willing to work all shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed.
- Estimated shift times 1st shift: 5:30 AM - 4:00 PM; 2nd shift: 3:30 PM - 2:00 AM.
- Standing for long periods, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required to perform the functions of this position.
- Able to lift up to 25lbs. unassisted.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience. Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock, stock options, or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
