Valtir is seeking an entry level staff Accountant to join our Accounting team in Addison, TX.
What you'll do:
- Collaborate with plant and corporate office personnel
- Use independent judgment to solve routine problems.
- Prepare monthly financial, operational, and variance analysis reporting.
- Prepare monthly accounting close journal entries.
- Accounts payable
- Provide management support and assistance, as necessary.
- Assist with customer billing, cash application, compliance with cycle count program, monitor cost and other spending activities.
- Cross train with other team members for exposure to a variety of topics including audit, tax, fixed assets, revenue, and other business topics
- Execute special projects and additional duties assigned by leadership.
- Be intrinsically motivated to find and implement process improvements and automation opportunities, including collaborating and aligning improvement opportunities with peers and leadership using approved AI tools, where applicable.
What you'll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance/business/economics or similar
- Ability to be quick learning, collaborative, self-directed, and academically curious
- Ability to analyze, research and solve problems
- Ability to systematically enhance processes and drive improvements
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong analytical, organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to work in a team environment across all levels of the organization is essential
- Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs
- Proficiency in AI
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and experience in all other Microsoft Office products. Ideally willing to train and coach others in our teams. Knowledge of using AI in excel.
- Oracle NetSuite experience is a plus.
- Strong GPA
- Willing to learn ERP, banking, card processing, other financial software tools.
- Mindset for continuous learning and growth development.
- Team and collaborative approach
- Must also be willing to execute routine financial reporting and transaction processing tasks.
- Must have a track record of part time or summer internship work experience.
- If needed, candidate must be able to travel (periodically)
