Focus: The Epoxy Sales Director - North America is responsible for driving the achievement of sales and profitability across North America. The focus will be on cultivating and strengthening customer relationships, identifying tailored solutions that promote customer success, and strategically expanding both new and existing accounts. This position will be responsible for direct account management as well as leading a team of Sales Account Managers, setting clear expectations, supporting their professional development, and driving their performance to achieve sales objectives.
Essential Functions:
- Drives comprehensive business growth by leading both new business development ("hunting") and expanding existing customer accounts ("farming") through North America.
- Assumes ownership of North America sales targets, forecast accuracy, and P&L contributions, ensuring the seamless execution of sales strategies, customer engagement initiatives, and disciplined commercial processes.
- Leads and develops the commercial sales team by setting clear expectations, offering ongoing performance guidance, and actively supporting professional growth and talent development initiatives.
- Creates and maintains strong relationships with customers and key internal Olin stakeholders, proactively identifying and addressing both stated and underlying customer needs.
- Resolves internal and external customer issues and/or concerns, demonstrating exceptional problem-solving skills.
- Leads negotiations and regularly updates pricing strategies to maximize product value, attract new customers, and administers supply agreements and contracts in alignment with company objectives.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal business partners, including operations, product management, finance, and customer service teams, to develop and execute sales strategies that drive revenue growth and support organizational objectives.
Position Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree*; Business or Technical field preferred; Master's Degree* or MBA preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of sales/account management experience and/or customer management experience within the chemical industry; Epoxy resins or related fields preferred.
Proven negotiation skills with a successful track record in closing deals and resolving conflicts.
Ability to lead a team, create a positive culture, motivate and develop others to achieve business objectives. Prior experience in people leadership is preferred.
Self-starter, adaptable, and resourceful in overcoming challenges.
Effective time management skills with a strong bias for action and the ability to independently plan and complete tasks.
Ability to travel 20-50% of time, usually overnight - travel level varies with assigned accounts.
Sales Force (CRM) experience preferred.
Must possess a valid US Driver's license.
