Position Duties
This position plays an important role in supporting hospital operations by transporting people, goods and equipment.
As an Equipment Operator A, you will perform the following duties:
- Vehicle Operation: Operate various vehicles to transport patients, staff and materials
- Equipment Use: Handle loaders, mowers, tractors and other mechanical equipment
- Safety Checks: Complete inspections and follow procedures to ensure safe operations
- Manual Labor: Carry out physical tasks such as unloading trucks and grounds care
- Maintenance Tasks: Perform minor repairs and assist mechanics when needed
- Documentation: Fill out required forms, records and mileage sheets for daily activity

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- 7 days on working 7:00am - 3:00pm - 2 weekend days off
- 3 days on working 7:00am - 3:00pm - 2 week days off.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,831.00 (before taxes).

Minimum Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months experience in the operation and maintenance of large vans, buses and single-chassis trucks with a gross vehicle weight of 10,001 pounds or more; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training
Necessary Special Requirement:
- You must have possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
