Position Summary:
The EVS Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the Environmental Services (EVS) team across assigned shifts, ensuring all public, back-of-house, and operational areas are clean, safe, and well-maintained. This position provides direct supervision of EVS Attendants, assigns tasks, inspects completed work, and reinforces safety and sanitation procedures. The EVS Supervisor supports training, scheduling, and inventory monitoring while maintaining clear communication with the EVS Manager and other departments. This position helps promote service excellence and operational efficiency within a 24-hour casino environment. This position will report directly to the EVS Manager.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for practicing, supporting, and promoting North Fork Mono Casino's culture and always demonstrating exemplary Service Standards.
- Supervise the daily work of EVS Attendants to ensure all assigned areas are cleaned and maintained according to established standards.
- Assign and monitor daily tasks, ensuring team members complete work efficiently, safely, and in compliance with internal policies.
- Conduct routine inspections of public areas, back-of-house zones, restrooms, and other high-traffic spaces to verify cleanliness and safety.
- Ensure proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment; confirm all staff are using appropriate PPE and following safety protocols.
- Coordinate daily priorities and shift schedules in alignment with business needs, special events, and operational requirements.
- Provide on-the-job training to new hires; reinforce procedures, safety practices, and departmental expectations.
- Respond to cleaning emergencies and support hands-on coverage when needed to maintain service standards.
- Maintain daily logs, inspection reports, supply usage records, and staff performance notes.
- Communicate effectively with the EVS Manager, Engineering team, and other departments to address concerns and coordinate support.
- Report equipment malfunctions, supply shortages, or facility issues promptly and follow through to resolution.
- Other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong leadership and communication skills; able to supervise, train, and motivate team members across multiple shifts.
- Knowledge of commercial cleaning techniques, materials, equipment, and safety standards.
- Ability to coordinate staff schedules and manage daily assignments in a dynamic, 24-hour environment.
- Skilled in conducting inspections and maintaining quality control over cleanliness and presentation.
- Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to maintain records and follow up on tasks.
- Comfortable using radios, scheduling tools, and basic software systems to support operations.
- Able to remain flexible, respond to urgent issues, and provide hands-on support when needed.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in environmental services, custodial operations, or a similar role required.
- Minimum one (1) year of supervisory or lead experience preferred.
- Experience in a casino, hotel, hospital, or similar 24/7 facility environment is a plus.
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment, safety protocols, and inventory procedures.
- Must possess a valid California driver's license and be insurable.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Commission, including passing a background investigation.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- All work is performed on site in Madera, CA.
- Must be able to walk, stand, bend, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Requires manual dexterity and physical ability to perform cleaning inspections, respond to operational needs, and assist with training or task coverage as needed.
- Must be able to operate computers, two-way radios, and standard cleaning equipment.
- Work may involve extended periods of walking, standing, or physical observation in operational zones.
Work Conditions:
Work is primarily performed indoors in back-of-house areas, public spaces, and facility support zones. Conditions may include exposure to cleaning chemicals, noise, second-hand smoke, and varying temperatures. The role requires frequent movement throughout the property to observe, support, and coordinate cleaning activities. Occasional access to storage areas, loading docks, or mechanical spaces may be required. Regular interaction with team members, vendors, and other departments is expected.
