THE POSITION
As an Executive Assistant for the Deputy Secretary for Field Services, you will be part of the team that supports key decision makers in the Department of Corrections. You will use your ability to exercise judgment and discretion, as well as your knowledge of office management and public relations to help guide important projects that influence statewide parole operations. NOTE: Senate Bill 411 merged the Department of Corrections and the Board of Probation and Parole. This position is within the Department of Corrections.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position supports executive leadership within the Office of Parole Field Services by managing major projects and preparing important written materials. The role plays a key part in shaping communication, coordination, and policy efforts across the agency. As a Executive Assistant, you will perform the following duties:
- Project Oversight: Manage special projects that support field services operations
- Document Preparation: Draft sensitive papers, analyses, and correspondence for a wide range of audiences
- Policy Representation: Represent leadership at events and meetings to explain agency goals and gather support
- Data Review: Analyze statistical reports and identify trends requiring action or recommendations
- Interagency Coordination: Work with internal and external partners to share information and support joint initiatives
- Program Management: Oversee specialized programs such as the Citizens Advisory Committee and Confidential Informant program

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six years of professional experience in administrative management or staff work, three of which must have been in a large public agency; and such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university supplemented by graduate work in public administration to the level of a Master's Degree; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
This position is not subject to the provisions of a collective bargaining agreement or memorandum of understanding.
