THE WORK
Support the Sikorsky Facilities Design, Construction, and Engineering organization by managing the engineering design for major projects and rearrangement activities across four Connecticut sites, encompassing a total of approximately 3 million square feet.
Assist in the preparation and monitoring of project schedules and costs, ensuring adherence to the established project budget and spend profile for design efforts.
Coordinate and oversee the bidding and procurement processes for all design efforts in collaboration with established consulting firms.
Provide technical guidance and support to various Sikorsky entities on engineering facilities design, with potential travel as required.
Collaborate closely with the Environment, Safety, and Health (ESH) organization to support initiatives and programs, including Go Green energy reduction projects.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a closely related field
- 4+ years of experience designing oversight and planning participation for small to large scale construction projects for manufacturing sites
- Experience developing designs for new and renovated buildings
- Ability to communicate and coordinate with all stakeholders to ensure designs meet criteria for scope intent, quality, budget, and schedule
- Experience reviewing and ensuring application of proper building codes in project designs.
- Experience managing oversight and/or preparation of drawings and specifications for relatively complex projects making appropriate recommendations and design development decisions.
- 4+ years of experience designing oversight and planning participation for small to large scale construction projects for manufacturing sites
- Experience developing designs for new and renovated buildings
- Ability to communicate and coordinate with all stakeholders to ensure designs meet criteria for scope intent, quality, budget, and schedule
- Experience reviewing and ensuring application of proper building codes in project designs.
- Experience managing oversight and/or preparation of drawings and specifications for relatively complex projects making appropriate recommendations and design development decisions.
Desired skills
Strong knowledge of engineering design and construction, as well as the LEED certification process.
Strong knowledge in mechanical, electrical, civil, energy and structural engineering
Knowledge in building systems, HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, energy conservation and fire protection.
Experience in project design, specification preparation and review, project scheduling, and some project cost estimating.
Experience in the bidding and review process
Basic knowledge of SAP for creating and tracking Purchase Requests and Purchase Orders preferred.
Strong organization, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to present to internal and external customers
Team player willing to work in a creative, fast paced atmosphere.
Flexible and able to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities.
Effective presentation skills, both written and verbal.
Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Project, Word, Power Point, and Excel.
Experience in the implementation of the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification process
Experience in leading projects, as well as the proven ability to work effectively within a team environment
Possess strong adaptability skills including the ability to handle multiple tasks
Experience in reading and modifying Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams.
Experience in electrical Arc Flash and NFPA 70E electrical safety.
BS degree in engineering discipline w/6–10+ years experience
MS degree w/4–7+ years experience
PhD degree w/2–4+ years experience
Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration preferred

Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $95,000 - $167,440. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
