About the Role
MSE is seeking a Facilities Technician to join our Maintenance team, reporting to the Storeroom & Buyer Coordinator. This is an entry-level role responsible for keeping our building interiors, exteriors, and grounds clean, safe, and welcoming. You'll handle a mix of sanitation, upkeep, and light grounds work, and play a key part in helping us meet our safety and compliance standards every day.
Schedule
- Monday through Friday
- Shifts vary between 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
- Overtime possible, including some weekends, based on business needs
What You'll Do
- Maintain building interiors, exteriors, and grounds
- Remove debris, spiderwebs, bird nests, and other hazards to keep the facility clean and safe
- Perform routine trash removal across production areas, offices, docks, and exterior walkways
- Clean and maintain floors, work areas, and high-touch surfaces using blowers, vacuums, mops, sweepers, and other equipment
- Operate waste-handling equipment such as trash dump hoppers and compactors
- Complete cleaning tasks on schedule, following wash, rinse, and sanitizing procedures
- Conduct visual inspections and report any safety or compliance concerns to a supervisor
- Complete checklists and documentation accurately for all assigned tasks
Work Experience
What You'll Need
- Custodial or sanitation experience preferred, but not required
- Ability to read, understand, and complete work instructions and inspection checklists
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
- Ability to stand for multiple hours and lift/move up to 80 lbs.
- Willingness to learn and operate additional equipment, including forklifts, as needed
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety and compliance
