Position Duties

This position oversees major safety, fire prevention, and environmental programs across the institution while ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with standards. As a Facility Safety Manager, you will perform the following duties:

  • Safety Oversight: Manage daily fire, safety, and environmental programs for the institution
  • Inspection Management: Complete and submit required safety inspections and reports on schedule
  • Drill Coordination: Plan and conduct fire drills and maintain related records
  • Training Delivery: Provide safety and environmental training for staff and inmates
  • Program Administration: Maintain Right-To-Know materials, water system logs, and hazard control programs
  • Incident Review: Investigate accidents and fires and recommend ways to prevent future occurrences

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $59,345.00 (before taxes).

Minimum Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of professional experience in an organized accident prevention, fire prevention, environmental safety, or security program, and a bachelor’s degree; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.


Additional Requirements:
  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
