Job Description
The intern will be involved in the development of failure analysis automation tools for Solid State Drives and NAND flash memory. This role requires a solid understanding in machine learning, including Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) and Large Language Models (LLMs).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop failure analysis automation tools related to SSDs and NAND flash memory.
- Design, train, and optimize machine learning models, with a focus on CNN and LLM.
- Automated compilation and organization of technical data to share with SSD and NAND Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
- Document design, tool implementation, testing and validation results, and data analysis findings for communication and transparency.
Qualifications
Required:
- Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Science, AI Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, related field with a graduation date of May/June 2027
- Available to work a 12-week, full time internship during May - August 2026
- Preference given to candidates who will not require relocation to the Milpitas, CA area. Relocation will not be offered for this position
- Hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras
- Strong understanding of Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) and their applications in computer vision
- Strong programming skills in Python, ElasticSearch, and Jupiter Notebook
- Understanding of gen AI development

- Ability to learn quickly and work collaboratively in a team environment
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good understanding of Solid State Drives (SSDs) and NAND Flash memory is a plus.
- Experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs) like GPT, BERT, or similar architectures
- Ability to utilize RAG, and finetuning the LLM models
