Protective's Internal Audit team is seeking motivated graduate and undergraduate students specializing in Accounting, Finance, or related fields for a temporary assignment. This role involves testing the adequacy and effectiveness of controls over financial reporting activities.


Protective's Internal Audit team is seeking motivated graduate and undergraduate students specializing in Accounting, Finance, or related fields for a temporary assignment. This role involves testing the adequacy and effectiveness of controls over financial reporting activities.

Interns will be compensated at a competitive rate of $22/hour, for 25-40 hours of scheduled work per week over a pre-defined period.


Key Details:
  • Duration: August to December 2026
  • Schedule: Full-time (30-40 hours per week). Fall course loads must accommodate the full-time schedule


  • Responsibilities:
  • Validate and test Protective's internal control environment to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley 404 and NAIC's Annual Financial Reporting Model Audit Rule.
  • Perform additional assignments based on business needs.


  • Qualifications:
  • Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Mathematics.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective time management, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Completion of Audit coursework is preferred.
  • Insurance industry experience is desirable but not required.
  • Availability to work a full-time schedule (30-40 hours per week) from August through December.


  • Selection Process:

  • Interviews: Candidates will be scheduled for an initial 15-minute interview with a recruiter, followed by 1-2 additional interviews with hiring managers.
