About this role

The Website Development Intern will support the AMCBCC's mission by assisting in the design, development, and maintenance of their website. The role is essential in enhancing our digital presence, improving our user experience, and ensuring that information is accessible and up to date. The intern will gain hands-on experience in web development while contributing to a meaningful community-driven organization.

MUST BE A CURRENT IVY TECH ANDERSON STUDENT WITH AN FAFSA ON FILE.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the development and design team to build and enhance website functionality.
  • Assist in designing responsive and user-friendly web pages.
  • Implement front-end and back-end development solutions using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and relevant frameworks.
  • Update and maintain website content, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Conduct usability testing and gather feedback to improve website functionality and user experience.
  • Support SEO optimization efforts to improve search rankings.
  • Researched industry trends and recommended innovative design and development solutions.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices.
  • Design and develop UI/UX elements that enhance the user experience.
  • Work with CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Drupal) to update website content.
  • Debug and troubleshoot website issues, ensuring seamless performance.
  • Collaborate with marketing and content teams to align website updates with business goals.
  • Assist in integra􀆟ng third-party tools, plugins, and APIs.
  • Document development processes and contribute to internal knowledge bases.

Must be authorized to work in the United States

General Qualifications:

  • Completed FAFSA on file demonstrating financial need; and
  • Maintain an aid-eligible Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) status; and
  • Maintain a minimum of 1 credit hour of enrollment in eligible courses; OR
  • Be enrolled in a minimum of 1 credit hour in the upcoming term

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing an Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Web Design, Graphic Design, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive design principles.
  • Familiarity with UI/UX principles and website design best practices.
  • Experience with CMS platforms like WordPress is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and eagerness to learn.
