As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for providing basic engineering field service support required to install, test, start up and/or maintain nuclear system equipment and/or components. You will perform service center support functions including but not limited to preparation of technical procedures, drawings, and specifications for equipment testing, use, and maintenance according to schedule, budget, contract, and scope requirements under direct supervision.
You will report to the Manager of Reactor and BOP Inspection Tooling, and will be based out of our Waltz Mill facility in Madison, PA. When not traveling, this position is expected in the office 5 days a week.
Your Day to Day:
- Installation, modification or maintenance of Equipment
Perform specific duties associated with installation, modification or maintenance of equipment, systems and fuel. Interpret specifications and drawings and ensure proper use of field service tools. - Analysis
Perform analysis and review of operational problems of equipment or systems and identify problems using test or inspection equipment, with guidance. - Customer Interface
Develop and maintain good internal/external customer relations in support of contracted work scope execution. - Testing
Prepare test procedures to evaluate equipment performance following modification and /or repair, with guidance. Observe operational tests as required. - Work Management
Perform work according to schedule, budget, contract and scope requirements. - Technical Training
Increase knowledge of inspection, quality control and test techniques to effectively facilitate installation, start-up and maintenance of nuclear systems, nuclear fuel and related equipment. - Technical Documentation
Prepare input for technical manuals, procedures and reports, with guidance
Who You Are:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mechanical, or Electrical
- 0-3 years of experience
- Knowledge of basic engineering principles, concepts and practices
- Ability to obtain & maintain unescorted access to nuclear facility
- Ability to travel up to 20%. Ability to travel extensively during the spring and fall for potentially weeks at a time.
- Related experience with demonstrated evidence of mechanical, networking and/or electronic aptitude
