About this role
The Company-Owned School Field Trainer plays a critical role in supporting consistent, high-quality execution of our swim curriculum, training standards, and customer experience across company-owned locations. This role is responsible for delivering hands-on, in-water and on-deck training, supporting Senior Swim Instructor development, and reinforcing training quality, curriculum execution, and product standards across locations.
This individual will serve as a key partner to field teams by helping elevate teaching quality, swimmer progression, safety standards, and overall program consistency across company-owned schools. The Company-Owned School Field Trainer will partner with General Managers, instructors, and leadership teams to support training execution, coaching, staff development, and consistent delivery of curriculum and customer experience standards.
While this role will primarily focus on training and coaching teams to existing curriculum and operational standards, the individual will also have the opportunity to collaborate with the broader Product and Training teams to support the development of new training content, resources, and initiatives that continue to strengthen the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Training & Development
Deliver engaging and effective onsite training for instructors, deck supervisors, management teams, and company-owned school staff
Support new hire onboarding and instructor development, including in-water instruction and safety standards
Partner with General Managers and leadership teams to support staff development and training needs
Reinforce proper execution of curriculum, teaching techniques, and class structure
Provide ongoing coaching and feedback through observations, follow-ups, and performance support
Conduct hands-on coaching to improve teaching consistency, swimmer progression, and customer experience execution
Support Learning Management System (LMS) initiatives and assist field teams with training resources as needed
Participate in and support customer experience training initiatives to reinforce consistent, positive interactions with swimmers and families
Collaborate with the Product and Training teams to support the creation, refinement, and rollout of training materials, resources, and educational content
Curriculum & Product Execution
Maintain deep knowledge and expertise of company curriculum, teaching methodology, and training standards
Ensure consistent implementation of curriculum and product standards across company-owned schools
Identify gaps in execution and partner with leadership to address training opportunities
Support the rollout of new programs, initiatives, and product updates
Reinforce consistency in lesson structure, swimmer progression, and teaching quality
Assist with testing, feedback, and continuous improvement efforts related to curriculum and training initiatives
Field Support
Travel regularly to company-owned locations to conduct observations, hands-on trainings, coaching, and quality assurance support
Partner with General Managers and field leadership to support instructor development, coaching consistency, and training execution
Provide hands-on support during peak operational times, including evenings and weekends
Build positive relationships with field teams through supportive coaching and collaboration
Support location staff in creating a positive, safe, and engaging experience for swimmers and families
Reinforce customer experience standards through onsite support, coaching, and collaboration with field teams
Quality Assurance
Conduct instructor observations and provide clear, actionable feedback
Maintain strong attention to detail to ensure adherence to brand, safety, curriculum, and training standards
Track and communicate training progress, opportunities, and outcomes
Help reinforce consistency in teaching quality and customer experience across locations
Support ongoing evaluation of training effectiveness and opportunities for continuous improvement
Collaboration & Communication
Partner closely with Operations, Product, and Training teams
Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
Share best practices, successes, and opportunities across locations
Serve as a collaborative and supportive resource for General Managers and company-owned school teams
Contribute ideas and feedback to help strengthen training systems, resources, and field support initiatives
Qualifications
Experience in training, coaching, teaching, or leadership development (aquatics or youth programs preferred)
Strong understanding of curriculum-based instruction; aquatics experience preferred
Proven ability to lead engaging, hands-on training sessions
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
High attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
Positive, team-oriented, and solutions-focused mindset
Ability to adapt training style to various learning styles and experience levels
Ability to build strong relationships and support team development across multiple locations
Requirements
Ability and willingness to travel up to approximately 75% of the time, primarily supporting company-owned locations throughout Long Island, with occasional travel to company-owned locations across the country
Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed to support onsite training, coaching, and field development initiatives
Ability to lead in-water training sessions and demonstrate swim instruction techniques
Comfortable providing direct, constructive feedback in a professional and supportive manner
Ability to support a fast-paced, multi-location training environment
