SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Colonial Group is looking for a junior or senior year accounting student to work as an Accounting Intern during the summer of 2026. The Accounting Intern will report to the Corporate Controller in Savannah and will be involved in the day to day operations of Colonial Group and its subsidiary companies. This is a paid, 40 hour per week position and will provide the intern with firsthand experience in the accounting systems and practices of a large, diversified corporation.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist with month-end financial reports
- Help with monthly bank reconciliations
- Prepare balance sheet and account reconciliations
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Assist with interim audit preparation
- File and scan journal entries
- Perform data entry
- Work under the supervision of experienced accountants on various projects
Requirements:
- Qualified candidates will be junior or senior level accounting majors with a GPA of at least 3.0.
- Must have strong computer skills and be proficient with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
- Must possess high attention to detail and organization, the ability to analyze and quantify data, and excellent communications skills.
- Should be able and willing to work both alone and in a group.
