About this role
Summary: The Finance and Accounting Intern will be primarily responsible for completing a project to create/maintain return on investment tools for both capital expenditure and major software/technology expenditures. This intern may also assist other departments in small projects as they arise.
$21.00 PER HOUR; M-F 8 A.M. - 5 P.M. - STARTING SUMMER OF 2026
Timing & Commitment:
This is a Summer 2026 internship running from mid-May through August (approximately 10–12 weeks). The expected start date is flexible between May 15 and June 1, depending on academic schedules. Some flexibility in start and end dates may be accommodated.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Gain understanding of existing ROI tools used for past capital expenditure investments.
- Create a means to evaluate the actual ROI achieved in those prior capital expenditure projects in comparison to original expected outcomes.
- Recreate ROI documents, when possible, for projects falling under our production floor automation program over the past 5 years.
- Create a new way to assess ROI on software and technology spend, in using similar formats above.
- Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Ability to read and understand specifications and blueprints.
- Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program at a four-year college or university.
- Course of study in Engineering preferred.
- Strong math aptitude and analytical skills.
- Strong working knowledge of PC environment and MS Office programs including Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Must be customer oriented and motivated with excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under time constraints and strict deadlines.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug test.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees. Ability to effectively communicate with customers and staff to make an accurate assessment of customer needs. Ability to develop customer presentations.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to verify and calculate figures such as cost/sale and/or margins. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations required to accurately complete assigned tasks.
COMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have intermediate level knowledge of Word Processing software and Spreadsheet software.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form. Ability to use sound judgment and problem-solving skills to analyze customer problems and to recommend the proper course of action. Ability to organize and prioritize job projects and requirements.
ATTENDANCE DEMANDS: The attendance demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Attendance is required Monday through Friday 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. or within normal business hours as established by the supervisor. The employee may be required to travel to different locations. Employee may be required to work overtime.
