Start your career in public service. The Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS), Office of Financial Services (OFS) is seeking candidates for the position of Financial Analyst 1. This position is located in Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia.

Position Duties

Pay Grade: H

Under supervision, performs professional level finance, accounting and fiscal control functions. Performs and/or oversees financial planning, documentation, analysis, reporting and system development. May coordinate the design or implementation of financial/ accounting/budget related systems and reports.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Manage full-cycle processing for PNA Benefits.
  • Serve as liaison between Medicaid Unit and AP Vendor Management to get existing accounts corrected for payment release. 
  • Process voucher upload; reconcile payment file to ensure accuracy of payments. 
  • Research and analyze patient file for returned checks and profile issues; review and research voucher build errors 
  • Manage Direct Bill Lodging process. 
  • Retrieve and review supporting documents for Direct Bill Lodging; coordinate with program travel coordinator regarding        accuracy of Direct Bill Lodging information. 
  • Complete Concur expense report for lodging expense transactions. 
  • Reconcile master bills and process in PeopleSoft for vendor lodging payment. 
  • Coordinate and communicate with program direct bill account representative regarding payment information. 
  • Complete journal entry to allocate lodging expenses to appropriate program Chart field coding. 
  • Research and reconcile car rental invoices; ensure employees have completed car rental expenses in Concur. 
  • Review and process region's audit settlements; review supporting documentation for accuracy. 
  • Process payment voucher and revenue receipts
  • Journal Entries and/or adjustment vouchers. 
  • Concur cash advance processing and customer service. 16. Research outstanding Travel advances.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate degree in a related area from an accredited college OR university AND one (1) year of job-related experience in accounting, billing, collection systems, or claims; 
OR
  • One (1) year of professional job-related experience in general accounting, billing, and collection systems and/or claims.
