About the Department

The Financial Analyst (Administrative Services Analyst I) (ASA I) assists management by providing administrative and analytical support related to financial and operational activities. The ASA I conducts research and analysis involving accounting or financial data, including cost analysis and rates and fees development, and supports the development or evaluation of cost recovery models. The ASA I may also assist in drafting policies and procedures and preparing reports or recommendations to support management decision-making, while demonstrating strong professional communication skills.

Competitive candidates will possess experience in accounting or financial analysis, including cost analysis and financial tracking. Experience developing or evaluating rates and fees or cost recovery models is highly desirable. Strong professional writing skills, including experience drafting policies and procedures, are essential. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate clear and effective professional communication skills and the ability to convey complex financial information in a concise and organized manner.

Position Duties
Minimum Qualifications
OPTION I
Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree, preferably with a major in accounting, business or public administration, finance, or a closely related field to the assignment. (Qualifying experience may substitute for the required education on the basis of one year of full-time experience equaling 30 semester or 45 quarter units of the required education.)
OPTION IIExperience: Four years of paraprofessional experience in an administrative capacity.
OPTION IIIExperience: One year as an Administrative Services Assistant with the County of Riverside.
ALL OPTIONSA bachelor's degree with a major in accounting or finance may receive considerable consideration.
Knowledge of: Principles of administration, organization and management necessary to analyze and evaluate operations, services and programs; principles and practices of fiscal management and/or budgetary control and/or contract monitoring.
Ability to: Collect and evaluate data; draw conclusions and formulate recommendations and project consequences of recommendations; monitor expenditures; interpret legislative and administrative mandates and regulations; establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in course of work; communicate effectively in written and verbal form.- Other Requirements
License: Possession of a valid California Driver's License may be required.
