About the Job

The Financial Accounting Analyst will provide broad-based accounting and analytical support for plant operations. This includes participation in and support of the general accounting process, including month-end and year-end closing. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the financial statements and supporting the business by providing accounting-related guidance and analysis as needed.

 

  • Perform a variety of month-end and year-end closing duties covering most areas of all three financial statements. This includes but is not limited to: ensuring close timeliness and accuracy, account reconciliations, accruals, journal entry preparation/posting, net sales and cost of sales accuracy, KPI communication and variance analysis and reporting (in partnership with FPA), accuracy of CAPEX accounting and reporting, etc.
  • Effectively work with plant personnel and others in finance group to provide decision support and help make sound business decisions to optimize performance of the Company.
  • Maintain reconciliations and other review processes to ensure proper recording and reporting of financial transactions.
  • Thoroughly understand monthly manufacturing activity to support management and analysis.
  • Support and implement continuous improvement / process improvement initiatives for the accounting team to drive efficiencies and special projects as assigned.
  • Provide support for the development and review of annual budgets, periodic forecasts, and other business initiatives.
  • Other general business and financial functions such as internal and external audits, census/tax filings, capital vs. expense decisions, etc
  • Employees are expected to perform other responsibilities as needed.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Associate degree is required.
  • Experience: Relevant experience and/or bachelor’s degree is a plus.
  • Skills: Good analytical skills and general business sense are critical. Be action oriented, results focused and possess good self-management skills. Good oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Abilities: Must have the ability to work independently while displaying sound judgment, adhering to department work standards, handling multiple priorities and maintaining timeliness and quality of work. Must be able to maintain required safety training for full-time position at the Ste. Genevieve location and make occasional visits to the Sunset Hills Corporate office and/or regional sites.
  • Behaviors: Must be able to quickly gain an understanding of the plant operation and work together with people throughout the plant to optimize the value provided to the operation. Comfortable being in and around an intense manufacturing operation.
