Summary:

The Financial Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the company’s investment strategy and financial planning efforts. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Acquisitions & Capital Markets, this position contributes to strategic decision-making by delivering high-quality financial models, market insights, and investment analyses. The role requires a detail-oriented, analytical, and collaborative individual who thrives in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment. This position works cross-functionally with internal stakeholders, brokers, lenders, and third-party consultants to support property acquisitions, dispositions, and capital initiatives. The core mission of this role is to drive investment performance and optimize financial outcomes through data-backed insights and modeling.

 

Essential Duties:

Investment Analysis & Financial Modeling

  • Develop dynamic financial models to evaluate acquisitions, refinancing, and capital improvement projects, and present findings to senior management.
  • Analyze financial data and industry trends to assess current and projected investment performance.
  • Research market data and economic conditions to inform risk assessments and identify investment opportunities.

 

Due Diligence & Transaction Support

  • Collaborate with brokers, sellers, and third-party consultants to conduct preliminary due diligence on potential acquisitions.
  • Evaluate the financial impact of property dispositions on portfolio returns.
  • Support the sale process by coordinating with buyers, brokers, lenders, and internal teams to ensure smooth transaction execution.

 

Reporting & Strategic Planning

  • Prepare detailed reports, forecasts, and business plans to support budgeting and long-term strategic initiatives.
  • Generate cash flow projections, investment performance metrics, and scenario analyses to inform decision-making.
  • Build and maintain databases of financial and market data to enhance future forecasting and modeling capabilities.

 

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work directly with investment bankers, regional and property management teams, and internal departments (e.g., Accounting) to align financial planning with operational goals.
  • Present analysis and recommendations to internal stakeholders and contribute to strategic planning efforts.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  •  0–1 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, real estate investment, or a related field.
  • Strong foundational skills in financial modeling, problem-solving, and quantitative analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with financial reporting tools or accounting software.
  • CFA Level I preferred.

Salary range: $80,000-$85,000

If you are hired at Morgan Properties, your overall compensation package will also be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
