HilltopSecurities is seeking a Financial Analyst to support core financial planning and analysis activities, including monthly reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. This role provides hands-on exposure to financial analysis within a dynamic financial services environment and supports accurate financial reporting aligned with the firm’s strategic objectives. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and interested in building strong partnerships with stakeholders across the organization.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Assess financial performance by comparing actual results to budgets and forecasts.
- Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts, including data gathering and variance analysis.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance financial models using advanced Excel functions and techniques.
- Help ensure data accuracy and consistency across financial reports and deliverables.
- Perform cost analysis and identify opportunities for cost savings and process efficiencies.
- Prepare and analyze recurring and ad hoc financial reports for management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial information and support reporting needs.
- Assist with special projects, process improvements, and analytical requests, as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; business, finance, or a related field preferred.
- 2-4 years of relevant professional experience, preferably within financial services.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Highly organized, motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and deliver accurate results on time.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret large data sets and generate actionable insights.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present financial information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with financial models or reporting tools is a plus.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. Degree preferred in relevant discipline
- Two (2) – four (4) years related experience
- Computer hardware, operating system (Windows or Mac) and software/application (MS Office, Internet Explorer, Outlook etc.) skills
