About this role

HilltopSecurities is seeking a Financial Analyst to support core financial planning and analysis activities, including monthly reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. This role provides hands-on exposure to financial analysis within a dynamic financial services environment and supports accurate financial reporting aligned with the firm’s strategic objectives. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and interested in building strong partnerships with stakeholders across the organization.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

Assess financial performance by comparing actual results to budgets and forecasts.
Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts, including data gathering and variance analysis.
Develop, maintain, and enhance financial models using advanced Excel functions and techniques.
Help ensure data accuracy and consistency across financial reports and deliverables.
Perform cost analysis and identify opportunities for cost savings and process efficiencies.
Prepare and analyze recurring and ad hoc financial reports for management.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial information and support reporting needs.
Assist with special projects, process improvements, and analytical requests, as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required; business, finance, or a related field preferred.
2-4 years of relevant professional experience, preferably within financial services.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Highly organized, motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and deliver accurate results on time.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret large data sets and generate actionable insights.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present financial information.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with financial models or reporting tools is a plus.

Qualifications

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. Degree preferred in relevant discipline
Two (2) – four (4) years related experience
Computer hardware, operating system (Windows or Mac) and software/application (MS Office, Internet Explorer, Outlook etc.) skills
