Position Description:

Responsible for assisting with appropriate tasks assigned to the Payroll area such as processing bi-weekly payroll, tax deposits and associated reconciliations. Responsible for providing this information to supervision for review. Expected to learn the federal and state laws regarding payroll. Should possess a basic level of accounting and system knowledge and have the ability to apply that knowledge in the discipline assigned. 

Essential Job Tasks:

  • Become proficient on the bi-weekly payroll process - understand the deadlines and inputs needed as well Payroll's relationship with Employee Relations and IT. Learn to balance the 80-hour controls and payroll edits. Prepare garnishment calculations for review / input. Organize employee deductions, W-4 changes and direct deposit changes for supervised entry. 
  • Expected to exhibit proficient customer service skills. Show an interest in greeting employees and learning their names. Has no difficulty in maintaining the required high level of confidentiality in this area. Emphasis on accuracy and timeliness in responding to any request.
  • Study applicable corporate procedures/policies such as Overtime, Leave, Travel Advances, Tuition Aid reimbursement, expense reporting, etc. Show initiative in learning how to apply these in the daily Payroll process.
  • Show initiative in learning the applicable federal and state laws pertaining to Payroll and reporting 1099s. 
  • Assist in preparation of any reports, analysis or audit schedules. 
  • Serves as back up to the Payroll Administrator and can complete most payroll tasks with minimal supervision.

Position Requirements: 

Financial Analyst I

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics or Management with at least 21 hours of Accounting required.

Compensation Information:
$54,470 - $68,070 (min. - mid.)

Financial Analyst II

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics or Management with at least 21 hours of Accounting + 2 years experience required.
  • Required experience in Payroll. 

Compensation Information:
$67,720 - $84,640 (min. - mid.)
