What you'll do:Join a team that provides critical financial support for Viasat’s major antenna programs. In this role, you’ll contribute to routine cost analysis, billing activities, and various financial tasks that help drive program efficiency and success. As part of this team, you’ll gain hands‑on experience with detailed cost analytics and financial tools that directly impact program performance. You’ll build a strong foundation in program financial management while working in a fast‑paced, mission‑focused environment.
In this position, you’ll apply your analytical, financial, and problem‑solving strengths to support the performance of major programs. You’ll use your Excel expertise to interpret data, build insightful reports, and support cost‑tracking activities that drive visibility and accuracy. You'll collaborate with cross‑functional partners across Viasat, including Program Managers, Engineers, Manufacturing, and Accounting.
The day-to-day:This position is located onsite at our Duluth office. Viasat embraces a flexible work environment and onsite/hybrid work is determined by individual roles and teams. Relocation assistance is available pending eligibility.
Expected start date is May 4, 2026
Responsibilities may include:
- Generating ad hoc reports for program managers, delivering timely insights that support decision-making and highlight key financial trends.
- Reviewing program cost plans versus weekly run rates to identify variances, flag cost overruns, and ensure financial health of the program.
- Facilitating program cost forecast inputs, coordinating with stakeholders to capture updates, validate assumptions, and ensure forecasts are accurate and aligned with project objectives.
Requirements:
- Education: Completion of Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field
- Experience: This role is intended for someone with 0-3 years of full-time, relevant industry experience
- Citizenship: This position requires U.S. citizenship
Additional Requirements:
- Experience working with large data sets in Excel (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, or data analysis)
- Experience supporting cost tracking, financial reporting, or budgeting activities
- Ability to analyze numerical data to identify variances or trends
- Experience collaborating with cross‑functional teams (e.g. Program Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Accounting)
- Familiarity with program cost structures such as direct costs and overhead
- Ability to create clear, meaningful financial reports
- Strong attention to detail and critical‑thinking skills
- Experience with forecasting processes or coordinating financial inputs
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems like SAP and Oracle
