POSITION SUMMARY:        

As a Financial Analyst on our FP&A team, you’ll be part of the group that supports the company’s most critical decisions. During your first year, you’ll learn how to forecast, analyze, model, and communicate financial results—while partnering with teams in Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, Technology, IT, and other Corporate Functions. This is a hands-on, high-visibility role designed to help you grow into a strong FP&A professional.

 

YOU WILL LEARN AND SUPPORT:

 

  • Assist in building and updating models for forecasting REVENUE/MARGIN/OPEX/CAPEX (drivers, assumptions, sensitivities).
  • Develop clear variance analysis (what changed, why it changed, what it means).
  • Prepare monthly dashboards and recurring reporting packages with clear takeaways.
  • Support planning cycles: forecasts, budgets, and long-range planning.
  • Partner with stakeholders to gather inputs and translate business activity into financial insight.

 

YOU WILL BUILD TOWARD OWNING:

  • Own portions of monthly reporting (specific functions/cost centers) as you ramp.
  • Improve templates or reporting workflows to reduce manual effort and increase accuracy.
  • Support ERP modernization workstreams (testing, validation, reporting improvements).
  • Contribute to special projects (ROI analysis, spend effectiveness, operational efficiency).

 

EXAMPLES OF WORK YOU MAY DO:

  • Build a dashboard summarizing spend trends and drivers for a corporate function.
  • Run scenarios (e.g., hiring changes, project timing, investment tradeoffs) and summarize implications.
  • Help streamline a forecast template or automate a recurring report.

 

WHAT YOU BRING:

 

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or similar (new grads welcome).
  • Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
  • Excel fundamentals (formulas, pivot tables, basic data cleanup).
  • Clear communication skills (can explain the “so what,” not just the numbers).
  • Growth mindset: curious, coachable, and eager to learn.

 

PREFERRED (NOT REQUIRED):

  • Internship/co-op/project experience in finance, analytics, operations, or accounting.
  • Power BI (or similar) experience from internships, coursework, or projects.
  • Exposure to Python and/or SQL (beginner level is fine).
  • Familiarity with ERP/planning/reporting tools (SAP, Oracle, Adaptive, Anaplan, etc.).

COMPENSATION:                           

As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting.  Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.  The range of starting pay for this role is $65,000 to $85,000 per year.
