In today's data-driven financial landscape, the ability to turn numbers into actionable insights is more critical than ever. At Cox Automotive, our finance teams play a vital role in shaping the business decisions that drive our vision of transforming the way the world buys, sells, owns and uses vehicles.

If you're passionate about financial analysis, love digging into data, and want to gain real-world experience in a dynamic, fast-paced environment — this Financial Analyst Intern role could be the opportunity for you!

What's In It For You?

  • We value your time and potential. At NextGear, you'll be exposed to meaningful, challenging work that makes a real impact.

  • You won't be figuring things out alone. You'll have a team of supporters — plus an assigned program mentor — to guide you, share their expertise and cheer you on.

  • You'll experience real accountability that sharpens your professional skills and builds your confidence.

  • You'll expand your network through exposure to finance and analytics professionals across the business.

  • You'll help us build a bold, sustainable and inclusive future.

What You'll Do

You'll learn about NextGear Capital, Cox Automotive, and the broader auto industry through finance-focused assignments. You'll receive on-the-job training and targeted development opportunities to help you engage with your strengths and clarify your career interests. Here's a peek at what awaits you:

  • Collect, organize and analyze financial data to deliver clear, actionable insights.

  • Support the preparation of weekly, monthly and quarterly financial reports for internal stakeholders.

  • Assist in building and maintaining financial forecasting models and tracking key performance indicators.

  • Leverage AI tools — including Claude, Copilot and others — to streamline reporting, automate repetitive tasks and surface insights faster.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and key internal stakeholders.

  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

  • Network with peers and professionals across the industry.

What Will Make You Successful

You're ready to learn, grow and make your mark. You're excited to join a company that gives you a voice, supports your development and respects your time and talent. You have the following skills and qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics or a related field.

  • Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas) is required and SQL is preferred.

  • Strong analytical skills with a natural curiosity for exploring data and uncovering trends.

  • Demonstrated basic AI literacy and ability to leverage AI tools to accelerate tasks such as reporting, data validation and analysis.

  • Strong communication, relationship-building and organizational skills.

  • Comfortable working independently, taking initiative and asking for clarification when needed.

  • Adaptable and curious, with a willingness to adopt new tools and approaches.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • US work authorization (sponsorship is not available for this program).
