About this role

Position Purpose:

Trans Ova Genetics is seeking a Financial Analyst Intern in Sioux Center, IA that will support the FP&A team during a summer internship focused on financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting, and performance reporting. This role provides meaningful hands-on experience evaluating financial results, analyzing business drivers, and contributing to decision‑making insights.


The internship concludes with a capstone project and presentation on a Finance-related analysis or improvement opportunity.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • TOG Finance project that will culminate in a presentation to leaders at the end of the internship.
  • Assist with financial analysis, reporting, and monthly performance review activities
  • Support preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis
  • Build and maintain Excel models, dashboards, and financial reports
  • Analyze operational and financial data to identify trends and insights
  • Collaborate with and observe other departments, including: AP, AR, etc.
  • Assist with invoice/expense report review and account reconciliations as needed
  • Perform data entry and data validation to ensure accuracy of financial information
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and business analysis
  • Maintain organized financial documentation
  • Provide administrative and analytical support to the FP&A and Accounting teams

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

  • Pursuing or recently completed a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, Agribusiness, Economics, or a related field 
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis; proficiency in Word and basic PowerPoint 
  • Ability to interpret, analyze, and work accurately with financial, operational, and large data sets 
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organization and time management skills 
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; able to work well in a team environment 
  • Self-motivated, eager to learn, and willing to take initiative; capable of handling basic office tasks and detailed work
