Overview

Working under the direction of the University’s Treasury Manager the Treasury Intern’s primary responsibilities include research and posting of sponsored and non-sponsored accounts receivable payments, analyzing incoming payments, auditing, approving and depositing cash sales, processing lockbox deposits, autonomously creating electronic file transmissions including bank deposit, dispense cash, gift cards and prepaid cards for spend authorization fulfillment, disbursing cash to students, resolving issues and responding to inquiries from students, faculty and staff. To accomplish these primary responsibilities the Intern must coordinate and oversee several programs and processes within Treasury Services while adhering to critical daily deadlines. In addition, the Intern will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service via phone, email and in person.  

 

Essential Duties 

Uses specialized systems and processes to accomplish tasks.  

Audits and approves financial records.  

Respond to inbound calls, emails and walk-up inquiries. Probes customers with leading questions to assess customer inquiries.  

Identifies, interprets, analyzes and researches issues and seeks resolution to ensure customer satisfaction and adherence to University policy.  

Determines process for resolution by using sound judgement and resourcefulness.   

Resolve routine and non-routine issues utilizing technologies and process/functional skills.   

Maintains documentation and communicates resolution to appropriate contact.   

Routes inquires to appropriate resolutionresource according to business rules and procedures.  

Supports knowledge management and continuous improvement initiatives.   

Maintains appropriate level of process, functional and technical knowledge and participates in training to continue to develop such knowledge.  

Monitors personal performance metrics and strives to meet identified targets.  

This position is onsite full-time and requires appropriate office attire and good attendance.




Required Skills and Abilities

  • Strong technical and organizational skills in addition to excellent written and verbal communication skills, in a professional environment. 

  • A high level of integrity, accuracy, dependability, enthusiasm, and confidentiality.  

  • Experienced and/or proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).  

  • Ability to work well both independently and in team settings.
