About the Department

Fire and Safety Marshal positions at South Mountain Restoration Center offer a meaningful chance to help protect residents, staff and visitors. This role allows you to lead important safety practices that support the well-being of the entire campus. Position Duties

This position focuses on providing fire safety protection across all buildings and grounds while supporting safety programs for the center. As a Fire and Safety Marshal, you will perform the following duties:

  • Safety Training: Conduct fire safety instruction for staff including evacuation and prevention techniques
  • Equipment Maintenance: Inspect and maintain fire hydrants detectors alarms pumps and sprinklers
  • Building Inspections: Perform fire safety checks of all areas to identify and correct hazards
  • Drill Coordination: Run fire drills in resident buildings and maintain required records
  • Incident Investigation: Investigate fires and alarms to determine causes and prepare reports
  • Emergency Leadership: Act as disaster site commander and direct safety operations during emergencies

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Minimum Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Four years of experience in fire fighting or fire prevention work; and graduation from a standard high school or vocational school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.


Special Requirements:

  • You must have possession of a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license.
