Position Duties
This position supports financial operations by gathering, reviewing, and documenting financial data for Torrance State Hospital. It involves maintaining accounts, reviewing invoices, preparing reports, and following accounting rules and procedures. As a Fiscal Assistant, you will perform the following duties:
- Invoice Processing: Review invoices, verify information, code entries accurately, and enter data into financial systems
- Account Maintenance: Maintain advancement and petty cash accounts while preparing checks and tracking balances
- Document Review: Audit financial documents to confirm accuracy, resolve issues, and support compliance requirements
- Record Keeping: Organize financial files, monitor purchasing card logs, and maintain required documentation
- Reporting Support: Prepare monthly financial reports and respond to requests for information from staff or auditors

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Minimum Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience performing bookkeeping or clerical accounting work; or
- An associate degree in accounting or business administration including or supplemented by six credits in accounting; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits.
