Summary:
The Fixed Asset Accountant is responsible for managing and maintaining the organization?s fixed asset records and ensuring accurate accounting, tracking, and reporting of capital assets. This role supports month-end and year-end close processes, ensures compliance with accounting standards, and monitors asset additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset subledger to the general ledger.
- Record asset acquisitions, transfers, disposals, and retirements accurately and timely.
- Calculate and post monthly depreciation and amortization entries.
- Ensure proper capitalization of assets in accordance with company policy and GAAP.
- Track construction-in-progress (CIP) accounts and facilitate timely capitalization.
- Conduct periodic physical asset inventories and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare fixed asset roll forward schedules and supporting documentation for audits.
- Assist with annual budget preparation related to capital expenditures.
- Support internal and external audits by providing asset documentation and reports.
- Monitor compliance with accounting policies and internal controls related to fixed assets.
- Analyze capital expenditure trends and provide reporting to management.
- Collaborate with procurement, operations, and finance teams on asset tracking and lifecycle management.
- Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor?s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
- 2?5 years of accounting experience, with exposure to fixed assets preferred.
- Experience with ERP systems and fixed asset management software preferred.

Preferred Qualifications
- CPA or progress toward CPA certification.
- Must have Blackline experience
- Experience in large, multi-entity or asset-intensive organizations.
- Familiarity with tax depreciation and reporting requirements.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle sensitive financial information confidentially
- Problem-solving mindset and customer-service orientation
- Experience with Microsoft Office and SharePoint.
