About this role
The Flight Dispatcher coordinates with internal executive customers to facilitate all trip planning needs related to travel on company aircraft. This includes the scheduling of flights and securing necessary permits, slots, and waivers while working closely with Chief Pilots and flight crews to ensure operations comply with company policies and regulations set forth by the Federal Aviation Administration and international agencies. The dispatcher is regularly tasked with managing communication throughout the flight department of aircraft movements and schedules to support effective mission planning.
Responsibilities
Specific duties and responsibilities include:
- Maintain crew schedule and flight assignments in coordination with crew leaders,
- Coordinates all ground and air transportation and accommodations for aviation personnel assigned to aircraft movements,
- Coordinates mission logistics with third party support vendors,
- Ensures over flights, landing permits, slots and TSA-required waivers are submitted and in order,
- Monitors trip and flight progress, including contingency options,
- Validates postflight data entries into flight operations and scheduling system,
- Tracks crew and passenger visa and passport expiry dates and facilitates renewal,
- Other assignments as delegated by Director of Business Operations
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- 3+ years of progressive aviation experience with time spent in a comparable role
- Demonstrates knowledge of the Dispatch function, including regulations and standards required to perform in the role
- Learns and maintains a working familiarity with the Flight Operations Manual (FOM), assigned Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and applicable Amex management policies
- Analytical problem-solving skills to react and make decisions in a dynamic working environment
- Aptitude for gaining proficiency in software platforms used to manage information related to job responsiblities
- Demonstrated ability to accurately follow workflow processes
- Written and verbal communication skills conducive to the stated responsibilities and interfacing with executive offices
- Commitment to continuous improvement and professional excellence
Preferred Qualifications
- Possesses relevant dispatch certifications, or willingness to obtain
- Prior work history in a corporate or private aviation environment
