Other Qualifications
Job Duties:
- Review menus prior to preparation of food.
- Prepare food for regular and therapeutic diets according to planned menus and recipes.
- Understand and be able to prepare therapeutic diets.
- Prepare residents' snacks and meals according to their medically prescribed diet order and daily menu.
- Seek approval from supervisor or Registered Dietitian for meal substitutions and record substitutions according to established procedure.
- Prepare a meal and have food items ready to serve according to agency's established meal schedule.
- Perform assigned cleaning duties according to established cleaning schedule and facility procedures, utilizing proper cleaning chemicals.
- Ensure the Nutrition Services Department is clean and sanitary, in accordance with Department of Health guidelines.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: Job appointment. Preference may be given to permanent classified employees of the Central Louisiana Supports and Services Center.
Work Schedule: Will be required to work 8-hour shifts; shifts will be determined based on facility needs.
Career Progression: This position will be filled as a Food Service Specialist 1, 2, or 3 depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.Compensation:
Shift Differential (for actual hours worked):$0.90 - 2nd shift evenings 2 pm-10:30 pm
$0.50 - 3rd shift nights 10 pm-6:30 am
$0.50 - All shifts weekend/Holidays
