About this position

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Functional Owner - Algorithm Systems Engineer to identify production algorithm requirements and define interface and signals in our Active Safety department in our Troy, MI location.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Defines and releases Object tracking Specification document
• Identify Object tracking, Scene perception, Sensor monitoring or sensor plausibility algorithm requirements together with customer requirements.
• Defines all required interfaces and signals required for the function to meet customer requirements.
• Collaborates with project team and with the various development areas (Software, and System Testing) in development of the functions.
• Leads Functional development and ensures functional performance meets customer requirements.
• Uses KPI matrices to measure and improve functional performance
• Ensures test engineering performs required system validation and relevant system test requirements and scenarios meet customer requirements
• Internal and external interface to the customer for system and function performance
• Work innovatively and creatively within the group with a particular focus on protecting innovation
• Decomposes customer functional requirements and defines compliance matrix in accordance to system capabilities and strategies.
• Defines and releases Object tracking document
• Having knowledge of the following algorithms: multi-sensor multi-target tracking, multi-sensor fusion, and situation assessment.
• Lead customer contact for all development issues and assignments (external communication).

Need to Haves (Basic Qualifications)

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics
• 1+ years’ experience related design and development of object tracking, radar, vision, or scene perception in automotive industry.

Nice to Haves (Preferred Qualifications)

• Requirement based automotive system development experience.
• Experience in system requirement.
• System architecture and design.
• Experience in Functional Safety (ISO 26262).
• Understanding of automotive bus systems, including CAN and LIN.
• Strong communication, presentation and moderation skills.
