    Supervisor’s Title: AEP Accounting Manager 



Position Summary/Purpose:

Applies company policies and control procedures in the preparation of AEP and Equity Fund financial statements. Works with outside accountants to assure the successful and accurate completion of AEP and Equity Fund tax returns and audits.




Essential Functions:

 

  1. Prepare monthly financial statements for tax credit equity funds.
  2. Prepare and review financial summary reports and other reports as needed to accompany monthly financial statements.
  3. Assist in the preparation of investor reports as outlined in closing documents.
  4. Assist in the assimilation of information for outside tax preparers and auditors.
  5. Review tax credit fund tax returns and audit reports prepared by outside tax preparers and auditors.
  6. Responsible for insurance investor tax credit reporting to investors and governmental agencies.
  7. Responsible for maintaining tax credit schedules for all equity funds.
  8. Analytical projects for tax credit funds as needed by Controller and/or Executive Management.


Non-Essential Functions:


  1. File/Scan information accurately for future reference.
  2. Other related duties as determined from time to time and communicated to the employee. 


Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Advanced knowledge of accounting practices
  • Analytical ability to compile relevant data into useful information
  • Computer and 10 key skills-MS Office, advanced skill in Excel, NetSuite accounting software experience preferred
  • Strong customer service skills to meet the needs of internal and external customers
  • Advanced ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure




Minimum Education/Equivalent Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience consisting of education and experience
  • Minimum of 1 year work experience in an accounting environment. 
  • Experience in the preparation of financial statements
  • Experience in Accounts Payable
  • Experience with SBIC and/or RBIC reporting requirements a plus
