Job Description
The Savannah River National Laboratory's Hydrogen Processing Group is seeking to fill a graduate intern position in the area of Fusion Energy Nonproliferation Studies.
Responsibilities
This position will assist staff scientists and engineers with computational projects related to fusion energy nonproliferation studies. This internship will teach valuable tritium handling and processing knowledge to the candidate.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Pursuing a graduate degree in an accredited Nuclear Engineering program.
- GPA 3.0
Preferred Qualifications
- The university that the candidate attends MUST be part of the DNN (Defense Nuclear Nonproliferation) TecH Consortium.
- Interest in nonproliferation studies.
- Interest and emphasis on computational work.
- Experience with Python.
Security Clearance Information
This position will require selected candidate to be able to obtain a DOE Security Clearance.
BSRA is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with BSRA require applicants to have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance.
