Gas and Environmental Accounting Specialist

General Description:

The position will be responsible for applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to a variety of business issues in SEI Fuel’s Wholesale business.

Role Description – Consignment Analyst

The Consignment Analyst is responsible for monitoring, analyzing and reconciling fuel inventory, daily sales and credit card receipts and preparing a daily net settlement of sales vs credit card receipts to 3rd party consignment operators.

The Consignment Inventory Analyst is responsible for monitoring/analyzing consignment fuel inventory variances and inventory reconciliations of sales on a daily basis. Daily, the Consignment Analyst performs reconciliation and settlement of sales and credit card receipts with 3rd party consignment operators.

Responsibilities

• Review, research, investigate and resolve fuel inventory discrepancies and disputes
• Communicate with Dealer Business Consultants (salesperson) to reconcile inventory transactions (sales) and discrepancies
• Reconcile weekly and monthly commissions
• Assist in activities related to month, quarter and year-end inventory reconciliations, including inventory transfers and adjustments
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business/Accounting
• 1-2 years of relevant work experience
• Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, lookups, nested formulas)
• Ability to analyze data sets for missing or anomalous data
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Ability to identify issues and develop and implement solutions to meet departmental goals
• Proven ability to organize, analyze and present data and relate findings to teams’ objectives
•  Customer satisfaction focused
• Able to execute multiple tasks within tight timelines
• Adaptable to change within a fast-paced environment
