GATE FUEL ACCOUNTING INTERN

Job Description:

Accounting support position reporting directly to the Fuel Purchasing Supervisor. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Process and key daily driver reports and delivery tickets for fuel purchasing
• Key and assist with questions regarding customers with fuel contracts and/or on-site fuel tank management systems
• Answer calls from billing department
• Balance and run end-of-day processes
• Investigate errors on weekly department checkouts and assist leadership as directed
• Match bills of lading with vendor invoices and EFT drafts
• Code vendor invoices and enter into back-office software
• Call vendors as needed to resolved billing issues
• Assist other GATE departments with fuel-related issues
• Perform additional duties as directed by supervisor and/or management
• Perform all tasks in a professional, accurate, quality-oriented, team-focused manner

In order to be successful in this role, a qualified candidate must have at minimum:

• High school diploma or GED
• 2+ years’ experience in accounting or full-charge bookkeeping
• 2+ years’ experience in reconciling GL accounts
• Advanced computer skills, including MS Office Suite
• 10-key by touch
• Ability to multi-task is a must
• Ability to meet deadlines with accuracy and under pressure
• Ability to employ investigative and analytical skills regularly
• Excellent attention to detail and organization skills
• Ability to work well with others to ensure all department responsibilities are completed accurately and on-time
• Good communication skills

Experience with JD Edwards AS400 a plus!

Working Conditions:

• Requires ability to work in an office environment, sit for long periods of time, and use typical office equipment.
• Requires ability to work independently with little to no supervision for long periods of time.
