Job Description:
Accounting support position reporting directly to the Fuel Purchasing Supervisor. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Process and key daily driver reports and delivery tickets for fuel purchasing
- Key and assist with questions regarding customers with fuel contracts and/or on-site fuel tank management systems
- Answer calls from billing department
- Balance and run end-of-day processes
- Investigate errors on weekly department checkouts and assist leadership as directed
- Match bills of lading with vendor invoices and EFT drafts
- Code vendor invoices and enter into back-office software
- Call vendors as needed to resolved billing issues
- Assist other GATE departments with fuel-related issues
- Perform additional duties as directed by supervisor and/or management
- Perform all tasks in a professional, accurate, quality-oriented, team-focused manner
In order to be successful in this role, a qualified candidate must have at minimum:
- High school diploma or GED
- 2+ years’ experience in accounting or full-charge bookkeeping
- 2+ years’ experience in reconciling GL accounts
- Advanced computer skills, including MS Office Suite
- 10-key by touch
- Ability to multi-task is a must
- Ability to meet deadlines with accuracy and under pressure
- Ability to employ investigative and analytical skills regularly
- Excellent attention to detail and organization skills
- Ability to work well with others to ensure all department responsibilities are completed accurately and on-time
- Good communication skills
Experience with JD Edwards AS400 a plus!
Working Conditions:
- Requires ability to work in an office environment, sit for long periods of time, and use typical office equipment.
- Requires ability to work independently with little to no supervision for long periods of time.
