OUR IMPACT
We are seeking a Vice President to join our Energy Technology coverage team. Vice Presidents play an important role in developing and strengthening client relationships, leading advisory teams and structuring and executing a full range of financial transactions. The Energy Technology Group leads strategic advisory and capital formation for the next generation of energy and digital infrastructure companies, advising market-leading businesses enabling AI infrastructure, electrification, grid modernization, power generation, storage, digital infrastructure and other emerging energy technologies.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the execution of M&A, IPOs, private financing, structured capital raises, fixed income and equity issuances, and strategic partnerships, serving as a day-to-day client leads across multiple complex transactions.
- Create and analyze financial models, perform customized company valuation analysis, help structure transactions and support internal committee presentations and funding processes.
- Organize and prepare client presentations that explain industry trends, assess client situations and recommend strategies to help clients achieve their financial and strategic objectives.
- Advise boards, founders, management teams, infrastructure investors, growth equity firms, utilities, hyperscale’s and strategic buyers on growth strategy, capital allocation, financing alternatives and strategic partnerships.
- Develop deep sector expertise across rapidly evolving energy technology and digital infrastructure themes, including AI infrastructure and hyperscale data centers, power generation for AI, grid modernization, power electronics, grid-forming technologies, battery energy storage systems, long-duration storage, EV charging infrastructure, fleet electrification, advanced nuclear, hydrogen, fuel cells, geothermal and energy software.
- Identify disruptive technologies, emerging market leaders and new business opportunities by developing long-term perspectives on AI-driven electricity demand and the evolution of the power system.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams of tax advisors, auditors, attorneys and bankers for various transactions; lead due diligence processes and actively participate in negotiations of legal documentation.
- Mentor analysts and associates, maintain best-in-class analytical standards and client deliverables, and foster a culture of intellectual curiosity, collaboration and innovation.
Skills and Experience
- Master’s degree and several years of Natural Resources, Energy Technology, infrastructure, growth equity or strategic advisory experience; OR Bachelor’s degree and seven years or more of relevant investment banking or equivalent experience.
- Strong track record of executing M&A and financing transactions in an investment banking advisory role, with demonstrated financial modeling, valuation and capital markets expertise.
- Two plus years of experience leading deal teams of analysts and associates and managing multiple workstreams across complex transactions.
- Ability to translate highly technical concepts into clear strategic recommendations for boards, management teams and investors.
- Passion for emerging technologies shaping the future of energy, AI infrastructure, electrification, grid modernization and digital infrastructure.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and owner’s mentality, with a demonstrated ability to identify opportunities, develop client relationships, generate differentiated ideas and thrive in an ambiguous, fast-evolving market environment.
